Welcome back to the classes of 2017 who will finish with us shortly and welcome to the new students who will be enrolling with us on the 8^th of January 2018 and onwards. Whether you have elected to enrol with the Study Programme or the Traineeship, we hope that you will find your time with us here at Gateway engaging and filled with new learning opportunities and experiences, to enter the world of work with renewed confidence, while feeling assured that you have gained new skills that will help you secure employment, further training or inspire you onto higher learning platforms.

Here at Gateway, based in Skelton, Redcar, we offer individual learning plans to students aged between 16-19 yrs., who are seeking to upskill existing qualifications in Maths/English (OCR), while completing the NCFE Qualification in Employability. We are part of Adult Learning and Skills, Redcar Borough. Redcar Borough Council. Our courses are free, for all students wishing to enrol with us.

Our current pass rate is 100% from 2016-17. We are rated Good, by OFSTED.

My staff and I will be happy to show you around our facilities and explain the course options available to you, including the wide range of work placement options, for you to gain valuable work experience, a prerequisite, needed by most employers today.

Our students travel to us from all over the Borough of Redcar. We are easily accessible, as we are located on the main bus routes.

To improve your Maths and English Skills. (GCSE , Level 1/2 qualifications)

We provide a learning platform for school leavers , Post 16 , who are looking to improve either English or Maths Qualifications and complete and their Employability Qualifications through NCFE. If you need to re-sit either Maths or English qualifications , we can assist you in achieving or improving these qualifications.

We will also place you in a work environment to gain valuable work experience and further develop your employability skills options for the world of work or if you choose, further study options too.

Our Tutors can provide you with information and guidance about career options and pathways beyond the Study Programme.

Our classroom are spacious and modern, supported by the latest Windows IOS.

Expert teachers to assist and guide you in all aspects of your learning experience.
Our learning facilities are are targeted at smaller teaching groups , with the emphasis on individual learning plans and differentiated learning strategies. Our aim is to help all our young learners reach a positive outcome at the end of the post 16 study programme.

Pupils in Alternative Tuition focus on the core subjects of English and Maths , with an emphasis on ultimately being re-integrated back into their secondary schools, as a final outcome. Other curriculum subjects are offered with Numeracy and Literacy being embedded into these practical modules. Food Technology , ICT and Design and Technology as well as Art, are offered to Alternative Provision pupils to provide an engaging curriculum.

We celebrated a 100% pass rate on the NCFE Study Program Qualifications 2016-17. All post 16 students progressed to further study or long term work placements. We are rated Good , by OFSTED .
